Reform of the european legislation regarding data protection
The new European regulation on the data protection imposes from now a series of precautionary measures within the framework of data protection.
Any organization (businesses, associations, medical offices, law firms …) dealing with confidential information for a third party will be required to take all necessary measures in order not to lose the information that they have been entrusted with.
In a broader sense, the organizations are required to protect, which means ‘Encrypt’ information so that it is rendered unreadable in case of theft or hacking.
Failing to demonstrate that they have implemented all recommendations to prevent access to private information, even in the event of theft, penalties may be severe.
If you are able to demonstrate that personal data were encrypted, the probability of being condemned to a fine, due to a violation, should be greatly reduced.
